What better way to travel quickly and quietly than on BMW’s quintessential sports-touring icon, the RT? After years of lusting after one from the sidelines, I finally got my own on July 1, 2006. This 2004 Titan Gray “dual-spark” Oilhead model was purchased from an opera singer in Pennsylvania, who had lovingly cared for it since new. The bike came delivered with quite a few extras, including PIAA 1100x Platinum driving lights, BMW Comfort Seat, Aeroflow’s Aeroscreen Extra-Protection Touring windshield, Aeroflow’s headlight guard, Wunderlich thermometer, Throttlemeisters, BMW cylinder head guards, stainless-steel tethered mirrors, BMW city lids for the system cases, a new 27L BMW Tank Bag with waterproof cover, Kathy’s bag liners for all cases, a new set of Metzeler Z6 Roadtec tires, and even an old Garmin Streetpilot GPS complete with RAM Mount. Impeccably clean and well cared for, the bike had only 15,908 miles on it at time of purchase. The purpose of this site is to document my life and times with this amazingly capable motorcycle.
