The Significance Of October 8, 2023
THE SIGNIFICANCE OF OCTOBER 8, 2023
(TLDR: When you see people protesting on October 7, they’re not protesting in solidarity with any cause. They’re overtly celebrating the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust.)
Today is the second anniversary of October 8, 2023. On this day two years ago, Hamas and its allies (including many “innocent Gazan civilians”) were still inside the kibbutzim in Israel kidnapping, raping, shooting, and burning everything in sight. The supposedly impenetrable border wall Israel had erected was blown open, and by all estimates, several hundred terrorists were still at large within the country. They were still uploading the carnage they were causing to the Facebook feeds of the victims, so that families could watch their loved ones die in the most gruesome methods unseen since Josef Mengele himself. All within Israel proper – our “safe haven” in the all the world!
At the same time as Israel was reeling on October 8, 2023, parades erupted in every major Western city across the globe. LA, Toronto, Sydney, Paris, London… Most of these pictures are from New York City on October 8, 2023. Swastikas displayed proudly, Islamists making the gesture of slit throats, genocidal slogans echoing through bullhorns amongst the smoke bombs polluting the air.
Not even 12 hours later, the encampments sprang up at colleges. Identical tents, identical signs, identical costumes, identical chants. Well funded, and well organized. The mob was forming, and they knew their target. Every empty, vapid reject in the student body now had a cause to latch on to. Every preening professor who had been marinating in the fever swamps of university postmodern cultural relativism now had a cause to latch on to. Every forgettable dunce in society with a gigantic sucking black hole where their moral center should have been now had a cause to latch on to.
Every leftist cause du jour, sensing where the winds were blowing, now insisted that all roads to justice led through Gaza. Indeed, we were notified that there would be no climate justice, no reproductive justice, and no racial justice unless a backwards 7th century Jihadist death cult was backed to the hilt against the evil Jews. So, the useful idiots fell in line and formed an “omnicause” cabal of disparate interest groups with absolutely nothing in common except for a seething hatred of Western Civilization.
And from there, they began the ancient project that they begin in every generation, with the same old plot: The Jew as the final roadblock to Redemption. The Jew as the worst possible thing that exists in society at that moment in time. And the predictable result metastasized across the West: Blocking Jews from attending class. Then spitting on Jews. Then terrorizing Jews. Then beating Jews. Then burning Jews. Then hospitalizing Jews. And then killing Jews. As predictable as ever.
Look closely at these pictures from October 8, 2023 and shortly thereafter, dear reader, because I don’t want you to forget. October 8, 2023 was the clear and unvarnished celebration of the bloodlust that was perpetrated the day before. It was Western leftists signaling self-righteousness to each other not by protesting a war – there was no war to protest yet – but by rejoicing in the savagery that was unleashed on the Jewish people just a few hours earlier. This is the significance of that day, and why it is important to remember it – so as not to navigate the world under any illusions of your place as Jews within it.
Israel did not retaliate against Hamas until October 27, 2023. It was then, on that very day, that (literally) the same exact people who gestured with throat slitting in the streets of every major city suddenly flipped to playing victim. Crying about “genocide” and “famine” and “collective punishment.” Not even a few hours into the very first operation on October 27, 2023, those purposefully maximalist phrases were being tweeted by all the usual suspects, and then faithfully repeated ad nauseum by every utterly vacuous useful idiot, right up until today. (This includes the likely next Mayor of New York City, who described a “genocide” before a single retaliatory bullet was fired.)
Think of the captivating story they’re telling themselves: The Jew – a tiny minority of 7m in a state smaller than New Jersey – was now the genocider, the starver of children, the cruel and heartless Goliath. The Arab – one of the largest colonialist forces and slave traders in world history, some 500m strong on a land mass several times larger than America – was now the poor, oppressed David. All that’s old is new again.
Please remember October 8, 2023, my friends. We were at our lowest point in generations, delirious and grieving. When our loved ones were butchered in front of us, when our infants were snatched from their cribs as hostages, when our grandparents were b*rned alive on social media… They threw parades, and passed out candy, and celebrated in the streets of our cities. And then, starting on the very hour when we finally retaliated in self defense – when they had more to contend with than frightened babies and kibbutznik grandmothers in wheelchairs – they begged for mercy while simultaneously vowing to (in the words of Hamas itself) “repeat October 7 a million times, forever.”
Mercy? Yeah…. No.
